Why Wasn't I Seen: Tyree's Cycling Experience in Wichita.
"I was stopped at the intersection of Hydraulic and the 135 off-ramp, about to head south. There is only a sidewalk on the west side and the light turned green so I crossed the street. After I had almost cleared the road, a motorist in a sedan started to turn right on red and never looked over to his right and hit me.
It took only a second for him to see me, hit me, and tap the brakes, but I got a hyper-extended knee because of it.
The man driving reversed in a panic and raced away from the scene of the crash. Thankfully, the car behind him pulled over and checked to see if I was okay. It wasn't until I stepped back onto the sidewalk that I realized how bad my knee was hurt.
I can't run anymore, and my knee causes issues in most other ways I try to move."
